Moon, Sun, Fire

Each practice follows a distinctive, proven methodology grounded in traditional Hatha Yoga and Tantric principles. They provide a full practice consisting of asana (movement), pranayama (conscious breath) and meditation to allow us to experience the full spectrum of our practice.

Moon Practice

‘Hatha’ comes from the Sanskrit words ‘Ha’ (Sun) and ‘Tha’ (Moon), symbolising the balance of these energies within us. A Moon practice helps us cultivate inner calm and stability through postures that promote ease and steadiness, while activating the parasympathetic nervous system.

This stage is ideal if you want to feel grounded and calm, or if you're looking to manage a busy mind or anxiety.

Sun Practice

The â€˜Ha’ in Hatha -  The Sun. The sun brings strength and vitality. In a Sun class we use more dynamic postures and energising breath to vitalise the body and mind. This practice combines postures to release stagnation, boost motivation, and deepen our self awareness.

A sun practice may be particularly beneficial for you if you want to feel energised and motivated, or want to boost dopamine and creativity.

Fire Practice

A Fire practice focuses on harnessing and awakening pranic energy at the navel centre, which is often referred to as our centre of power or Kundalini. This advanced practice encompasses various elements, including asana (physical postures), bandhas (energy locks), mudra (hand gestures), pranayama (breath control techniques), and meditation.

Fire practices are for seasoned yogis ready to dive deeper into the practices and reach higher states of awareness.

Kriya Meditations

Kriya meditations are advanced techniques in yoga and meditation designed to purify the body, mind, and energy pathways (nadis) through controlled breathing, and visualisation. Rooted in Tantric and Kundalini traditions, these practices often aim to accelerate spiritual growth and deepen states of inner awareness and peace by systematically moving energy up through the chakras (energy centers) along the spine.

Chakras

The chakras are energy centers in the body, each linked to different aspects of our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. In Hatha yoga, we use movement, breath, and meditation to balance and activate these energy points, helping prana (life force) flow more freely. Each chakra aligns with real physiological and psychological patterns, from grounding in the root to expansion at the crown. By working with them in practice, we create a deeper connection between mind and body, fostering both stability and transformation.
